The Toilet

Features very highly in my list of important topics. Life seems to revolve around bowel movements and toilets.

Here, ours is a sit down hole in the ground covered by planks. It is housed in a sort of makeshift wooden box with an old door on hinges. Flies and mosquitoes fly around the small space trying to avoid the infestation of spider webs and spiders and spider skeletons. Maggots crawl over the floor.

Someone has put really annoying pictures of happy families and country life and nice homes on the walls. The stench is appalling.

Elena has just apologised profusely for not having decent amenities like running water. I had to explain that it was not difficult for me just different which is true and that I am happy here which is also true. They she asked me if I would come back next year. I said I would like to and she said she would like it if I stayed with them again. Great!
